    Lance Cherry

    Lance Cherry, Art Director

    Lance Cherry has over a decade of marketing and media experience and is an award winning graphic designer. A native of New Mexico, he has spent the past several years working for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish successfully as the Assistant Chief of Public Information and Outreach and Chief of Publications, responsible for all publications, media relations and many outreach programs. 

    Previously Lance worked as Marketing Operations Manager for the New Mexico State Parks Division. He was responsible for the entire division Advertising, Public Information, Corporate Partnership, Multi-Media and Community Outreach programs.

    Under Lance’s leadership, New Mexico Department of Tourism recognized the division as the largest tourism contributor in New Mexico, with all 32 parks ranked in the top 100 tourism destinations. Despite severe drought and fire conditions, parks visitation and revenues continue to improve as a direct result of his hard work and highly effective media planning.

    Lance has an extensive and varied marketing and media background with related experience in the following career positions: Public Relations Officer at New Mexico Highlands University, News Designer with the Albuquerque Tribune; News Designer for the Gazette Telegraph in Colorado Springs; News Designer, Copy Editor and pre-press computer technician for the El Paso Times; Art Director for deBruyn, Trejo & Associates Advertising Inc.; Owner of Cherry Designs Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations; and a contracted professorship with The Art Center of Albuquerque.

    Lance currently serves on the Tourism Association of New Mexico as a board member, representing the outdoor recreation industry. He serves as Chairman of the Middle Rio Grande Endangered Species Act Collaborative Program Public Information and Outreach Workgroup. He also served on the Tourism & Economic Impact Assessment Sub-Group of the Drought Task Force for both Governor Gary Johnson and Governor Bill Richardson.

    Lance has received numerous awards and recognition in the advertising and media industry including an Addy from the El Paso Advertising Federation, Recognition in the Society of Newspaper Design’s annual best of newspaper design and multiple best of Gannett awards.

    Lance received his bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Visual Communications from New Mexico Highlands University in 1995.

    Jaime Cherry

    Jaime Cherry, Creative Director

    Jaime Cherry solid background in education and a strong passion for conservation and the outdoors. In the classroom, she has developed writing, math and science rubrics and implemented curriculum for differentiated instruction.

    Creative word construction and out-of-the-box ideas come natural to Jaime. A well thought out combination of words, “Call in sick. Pack your gear. Find your adventure.,” spawned one of the most successful summer marketing campagns for the New Mexico State Parks system. This simple slogan was presented on T-shirts and became the mantra for New Mexico’s largest lake, Elephant Butte Lake State Park.  

    Jaime has a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Secondary Education.

    Jim Johnson

    Jim Johnson, Technical Director

    Jim Johnson has spent ten years in the engineering industry primarily as a design engineer, but also performing finite element analysis, electrical design, packaging, integration, and on-site troubleshooting on various programs.  He currently works for Boeing-LTS supporting aerospace and defense design activities.

    Jim has been engaged in computer programming activities for 15 years.  He has also maintained his own website since 2000.  Jim received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1998 from LeTourneau University.

    Jennie Johnson

    Jennie Johnson, Marketing Director

    Jennie Johnson received her bachelors of arts in Business Administration in 1999 with an emphasis in Marketing, Management, and Spanish.  She studied International business abroad in Central America.  While in Costa Rica, Jennie worked closely with local companies to help develop and implement their marketing analyses.

    Jennie worked for City of Longview, Texas in the Parks and Recreation Department.  As a Recreation Specialist, she created internal publications, worked closely with local organizations, produced customer satisfaction surveys and accomplished graphics design related tasks.  Jennie also participated in a design committee for the city’s main website. 

    Jennie used her management skills in serving as General Contractor for the house that she and her husband Jim built in 2003.

    Currently, Jennie is focusing her efforts on educating their children.
